Customer service lead Service and Standards

Cove is the new kid on the block when it comes to general insurance but we are growing customer count rapidly and need another superstar to join our operations team. Here it’s all about the customer – and you’ll be first response across all our service channels.

If you like the sound of more live chat conversations than phone conversations, dealing with customers who are blown away with our level of service and responsiveness, and just love being creative to find a customer solution when the standard process just doesn’t work, then this could be the next role for you.

We’re looking for someone who is still willing to put in time at the coalface, keen to secure a leadership role in the future, and likes the sound of being able to have a huge influence and high level of ownership over our processes, standards and satisfaction right now. For the right person, as the company grows, your team will grow below you.

This role is a great opportunity to help shape not only the standards we expect for customer service here at Cove but also to be part of a great team striving to give consumers innovative options for looking after their financial wellbeing.

Please note this position has fixed hours of 9am to 6pm Tuesday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday. You will also be required to join the after-hours customer support roster for live chat support – picking up the occasional customer conversation via your cellphone while doing whatever it is you like doing on your time off.

You’ll be based in the newly established operations hub in the mighty Manawatu (P. North central) and will be jet setting to our corporate office in Auckland every now and then.

Developer Superstar

Who are we looking for?
Cove is looking for a self-motivated intermediate/senior cloud javascript developer who isn’t afraid to take on tasks outside of their usual skillset. Even our CEO is on live chat everyday talking to our customers! While we won’t ask you to talk directly to customers, you may need to perform testing, fix operational issues and generally solve problems. However, your primary responsibility will be developing and supporting our web app and associated APIs, comprised of:

– Serverless Framework deployed to AWS
– React/Next JS frontend
– Elastic Beanstalk NodeJS services
– Javascript REST APIs deployed as Lambda functions fronted by API Gateway
– MySQL/NoSQL Databases
– CI-CD pipelines for all of the above
– 3rd Party API Integrations

Bonus points for:
– Insurance Knowledge
– AWS Experience
– Analytics/Reporting Skills
– Python/Django Familiarity
– Automated Testing
– Development community contributions
