Partner Referral Program – Terms & Conditions

Cove’s Partner referral program is designed to encourage Partners of Cove to tell their customers about Cove. For any customer of the Partner that purchases and holds a Cove policy, a reward will be provided to the Partner.

To entice customers of the Partner to purchase a Cove policy, Cove will cover the first month’s premium payment up to a total value of $100 on the purchased policy.

For any successful policy purchase the Partner will also be rewarded.

Participation in the Partner referral program (“The Program”) is subject to these terms and conditions, which are part of the Cove Terms of Use. Capitalised terms that are not defined here will have the same meaning given to them in the Cove Terms of Service. Cove (“Cove Limited”) reserves the right to terminate The Program at any time and for any reason.

Definitions

Active Customer

An individual who has accessed the Partner’s products and services within the last 30 days

Genuine Customer

An individual who has purchased, subscribed to, or signed up for the Partner’s products and services. A genuine customer is not an individual who has displayed an ‘expression of interest’ in the Partner’s products and services only

Invited Customer

A person who has received an invite from a Cove Partner and purchased a policy with Cove

Partner

A company that has agreed to introduce their customers to Cove products and services

Partner Referral Discount

Discount of up to NZ$100 equivalent to be used on Cove policy purchases by an Invited Customer

Partner Referral Reward

A one-off finder’s fee paid to the Partner for the introduction of a new Invited Customer

Secured Policy

A policy that has been purchased via the Partner Referral Program and has subsequently renewed following the first month of cover with the Invited Customer paying their renewal premium

Services

Means the provision of mobile phone insurance cover by Cove

How to receive a partner discount

Partners tell their customers about Cove and provide a Partner Link or Partner QR Code. When a customer clicks on the link and buys a Cove policy they become an Invited Customer.

When a link becomes activated by clicking on it, Invited Customers are entitled to receive a discount of up to NZ$100 to apply towards a new policy purchased by them.

To be eligible for Discounts, and to be included in the calculation of Partner Referral Rewards, an Invited Customer must:

  • Satisfy Cove’s normal underwriting criteria for the relevant policy
  • Be a genuine customer of the Partner’s business
  • Register a valid credit card on initial purchase for subsequent renewal payments. Standard renewal payments will be automatically debited after any Discounts have been used.

The Partner will receive a Partner Referral Reward (Finder’s Fee) after the Invited Customer pays their first renewal in full (A Secured Policy).

Important information for the Invited Customer

Invited Customers will have any relevant Discount applied whilst purchasing their new policy.

Discounts are for promotional purposes; they have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged for cash. Discounts can only be used for purchasing new policies with Cove.

Subsequent polices can not be purchased for an asset that has previously been insured with Cove.

If for any reason the Invited Customer believes that there is a discrepancy regarding their Discount, they must contact us. Cove may require them to submit additional information in order to make a determination regarding their balance. All decisions regarding their balance will be final and at Cove’s sole discretion.

Invited Customers are responsible for any tax consequences, if any, that may result from Discounts applied. Where applicable, Cove may be required to account for GST and levies on any services for which a Discount has been applied.

Specific Exclusions

Discounts can only be used for the purchase of new policies.

Discounts cannot be used for policy endorsements, such as adding optional extras after initial policy purchase or for any other purposes, including but not limited to payment of claim excess.

Only one Discount can be used per policy, up to a maximum of NZ$100.

Remaining Discounts (if any) are forfeited after the purchase of the policy for which they were issued.

There are no refunds applicable to policies paid (or part thereof) with Discounts. For example, Cove normally refunds the premium paid if the policy is cancelled within 14 days, provided no claim has been made. If this was a $120 policy paid with a $100 Discount and $20 cash, a refund of $20 would be applicable. The $100 Discount would be forfeited in this example.

The Program may not be combined with other Cove referral programs or incentives.

Multiple Invites

An Invited Customer may use more than one invite from a given Partner, however excessive use will be investigated and the following will result in the Invited Customer no longer being able to participate in the scheme:

  • Cancelling a policy and purchasing a new policy on the same asset to secure a new Discount
  • Purchasing a policy when not an Active Customer of the Partner
  • Purchasing a policy when not a Genuine Customer of the Partner
  • Purchasing a policy on behalf of another person

Severability

If any provision in these terms are held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck out and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Termination and Changes

Cove may suspend or terminate The Program or a particular user’s ability to participate in The Program at its discretion at any time without giving any reason.

Cove has the absolute discretion to cancel policies or remove/reverse Discounts if we notice any activity that we believe is abusive, fraudulent, or in violation of the intent of Cove Terms of Service or The Program Terms and Conditions. Cove reserves the right to review and investigate all invitation activities and to suspend users or modify Discounts in our sole discretion, as deemed fair and appropriate by Cove.

The scope, variety, and type of services and products that you may use earned Discounts on can change at any time.

Updates to the Terms

Cove can update these terms at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will
post the modification on the Cove website or Facebook Messenger conversation thread, which
are effective immediately upon posting, unless otherwise stated. Continued participation in the
The Promotion after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.
